Times-They are a changing.....

My cheese is moving........
So, if you know me at all, you know I have worked nights at the APC for 2 years now. Go to work at 3:30 pm and get off at 11:30 pm. I have also been working 30 hours a week during the day at a gift shop downtown. That is all about to change.

I'm sitting in my cubicle at work a couple Tuesdays ago and all of the sudden this voice in my head (DO NOT LAUGH) told me I needed to transfer to the day shift. I'm thinkin "NO, I do not want to get up that early, NO I do not want to take a cut in pay, NO I do not want to leave my nighttime work friends. The voice says you have to go to days. WTF.......I have never wanted to go to days = WHY. No reason, just go to days. So at break I call Norman and see what he thinks (besides the fact that I'm crazy) - he says we'll tighten our belts but we can do it. Now, in the past, if someone requested to go to the day shift, it took weeks, months, or even longer. So, I'm thinkin, I'll request to go to days and maybe sometime next year I'll actually go. So back to my cubicle I go, I email my supervisor my request to transfer.

THE NEXT DAY, the supervisor's supervisor comes to me and says "so you want to go to days" - I'm like "yeah" and he says "WHEN" . OMG what do mean "WHEN" you mean I can go now - yep you can go now - OH NO. So I say I'll go in 2 weeks-gotta give the day job boss some notice to hopefully change my schedule so I can keep working downtown too.

OMG-I'm gonna have to get up at 5:45 AM, I must be crazy. I'm not a morning person, I cant smile in the morning, I cant be nice in the morning- what am I gonna do. Then I start thinkin, I'll be getting off work while it is still daylight - WOW. I'll get to watch my favorite shows (that I've missed for 2 years) - WOW. I'll get to see my husband more than 2 nights a week - WOW. Ok so some good with the bad. The very worst thing is that I have some of the greatest friends at work on the night shift and I am going to miss them terribly. But the good to that is that some of those wonderful people have gone to days in the past so I will get to see them now.

The day job, well it is down to just Saturdays for now-but that's ok, I will luxuriate in some time off. My Cheese is moving - big time.

Oh, if you're wondering about the picture of the sofa, it is for sale. Nina has two of them. Very retro/cool. She needs to downsize to just a love seat. Let me know if your interested. Have a wonderful day - This weekend is supposed to be RAIN FREE yeah!!!!!!!

Whew, its over

After weeks of getting ready, the yard sale/glassware sale is finally over. What a job. If I ever say I am going to have another one, somebody slap me please. Nina and I worked so hard getting it set up, we were exhausted when we shut the doors on Saturday. Wish we could have sold everything - but that never happens. The Salvation Army will be getting a chunk of the leftover yard sale stuff and I guess I'll take everyone's advice and start ebaying the glass ware.
So, I've decided to go to the day shift at work. That will be strange - getting up in the wee hours of the morning and getting off work while the sun is still shining. I'm excited. I just hope I can continue to work at my part time job - just in the evenings instead of the mornings- keeping my fingers crossed they can accommodate my new schedule.
It is a cold, rainy, depressing day here in Hot Springs. The kind of day you just want to stay curled up in bed under the covers but since I have some time, I better enter some Coke Codes. I've got a box of caps just waiting for me. Have a great day all.

Here I am

Hi folks, don't have a lot to talk about, been especially busy with Nina and with getting ready for the big garage sale and glass sale. I did get my camera - a Nikon D3000 and it is awesome. Here are some pictures:

Bubble time after Sunday Dinner, Connor loves to chase down the bubbles and pop them.
Nina's new tatoo. That's all I'm sayin

And my little Connor Monster. He's getting so big. Hope everyone is doing well. Take Care and we'll talk again soon.

Sundays

It's been a while - sorry. I've been busy. I've been depressed. I've been tired. I just haven't felt like talking to you all for a while. I'm still busy, tired and a tad depressed and right now I have a killer headache but we'll chat anyway. Some days, I just don't have time to hardly turn on my computer - but I do and I check my email and facebook wall every day.

Okay, so what's been happening here in the life and times of terri and her family. This past holiday weekend was nice. Spent lots of time with Nina. Bryan came down on Sunday and cooked for us - it was great. Had 3 nights off in a row - way nice. Had to work the days though. Below is a picture of the Connor monster and Bryan on Sunday after dinner. We always go outside and play after dinner. Pretty soon it will be dark at 5:00 pm and cold - so we are taking advantage of these wonderful Sunday evenings now.

The picture below is one I've been wanted to take for a while. Isn't it ironic that I have a cool little red car, my daughter has a cool little red car and Bryan has a cool little red car. I got mine first :)
Now, last weekend I got a huge surprise. As many of you know, we bought our house 2 1/2 years ago. It was new construction but the builder wouldn't let us make any decisions about the house. He already knew what he was going to do and he told me he would build me a beautiful house - which he did. One thing about this house that I would have changed - given the opportunity - is the paint color on the walls. The walls and ceilings everywhere (including the garage) are sage green. I am not a fan. One day while checking on the construction progress, we happen to be there the same day the painters where there and they hadn't painted the master bathroom or closet yet so I asked the painter if he could please just paint those two rooms white - he did. I had previously decided that I wanted my bathroom to be decorated in Aqua and Brown - so sage green just wasnt going to work. Since we moved in I have been looking for the perfect shade of aqua to paint the walls and finally found it in the latest issue of the Oprah magazine. I told Norman that this was what I wanted the walls painted in the master bathroom. LO AND BEHOLD I came home from work last Sunday and when I walked in the bathroom.................

This is what I saw. I was SHOCKED cuz Norman doesn't ever do anything like this as a surprise. So now I have my aqua bathroom and I'm gonna have to go buy more towels.
We are having a yard/garage sale the weekend of Friday & Saturday October 2 & 3. I hope this is the last yard/garage sale I ever have to have. I am also going to try to sell my vintage glassware -all 25 cases of it. Nina and I have been pulling out each piece, inspecting it and cataloging it - and she has been taking pictures of each piece - what a job.
Darlene - I hope you had a wonderful vacation and got lots of rest - with all that's happening at SS you're gonna need it.
Sandra - where have you been? I haven't heard from you in a while. Hope all is good with you and your family.
Paula - I guess I am going to have to snail mail those pictures to you. email me your address and I will print them out and send them to you. You need to come see us - soon.
Charles - that N1H1 email - WTheck was that creature - kinda wigged me out, nina too. I appreciate the hankies, I just hate that I need them so often.
Reggie - some good news - not in the bones. We are all still praying and thinking of you.
Jenn - we missed you at Sunday dinner - hope you had a good trip.
Lydia - Thank you for all your support and advice. You always happen to be there when I need you the most.
For everyone that has given me coke codes, caps and fridge pack ends - THANK YOU SO MUCH. I haven't won anything YET but I will.
Have a great week everyone.

Why

Some days it is too hard to talk. Some days it is to hard to think. Some days I just don't want to be here. Today is one of those days.

My day off......

Let's start with last weeks shopping trip. Nina may have gotten all the clothes but I got the cool stuff. I'm really into the peace sign right now and I have been looking for sunglasses with a peace sign and I wanted a new wallet - so look what I found!!! (yeah I know the wallet is upside down kinda but YOU know that is a peace sign). Now I have like 5 pair of sunglasses but these ARE the coolest. And since Nina doesn't think these are cool, I don't have to worry about her "borrowing" them.
Family dinner night was great but we missed Norman (he's on vacation). I forgot to take pictures - just wait til I get my new camera, I won't forget anymore.
Today, I got up at 9:30 (for me - on a day off - this is like WAY early), went to pick up some groceries for Nina - don't want her to starve. Then went to KING KONE for lunch, burger, fries and shake - it was really good. After lunch I cleaned the bathrooms - YUCK - I so need a housekeeper. Then I layed down to take a nap but NINA called and wanted me to meet her at the gas station on her lunch hour - her tank was empty (so was her wallet). Then I started to read some of my magazines (they have been stacking up for a couple months now) - got bored and decided to post this instead. Just got an email from one of my work friends - Terri (Campbell) - she is home with migraine - hope you feel better soon Miss Terri. I have the BEST work friends ever. It's almost time to take CiCi Bear for a walk, then I gotta enter my coke codes, enter some sweepstakes, take out the trash for trash day, eat dinner, take a shower then off to bed. Whew, these days off go by fast.
I'm watching the news right now and they just stated that Arkansans are some of the most medicated people in the US - mostly because of obesity. WE BE FAT.
Paula, your email will not allow my email to be delivered to you - I'll try something different.
I'm being stared at (cici is ready to go for a walk) so I'll talk at you later. Have a wonderful week everyone. I love you Nina Bear. REGGIE - I hope you are doing ok, I hate how the "company" treated you. Take CARE.

Family Portrait

Sometimes I get so frustrated with this blogging thing - I really wanted to show you several pictures (portraits) but I can only get one at a time to come up. There are so many things I don't know how to do and I don' t have time to learn. So I will share this one with you today. It is Nina, Christopher and Connor - duh. I like this picture and I don't like this picture. It is a great one of Connor. I told Christopher he looks like Jack Nicholson in this picture and who is the stranger with the dark hair? That doesn't look like my Nina. Anyways, I am waiting (once again) for Nina (who is once again late) and we are going to breakfast - at IHOP (yummy) and then on to the mall (that is, if she ever gets here).

That's it for today, I'll catch up with you Tuesday.

Izzy

This is Izzy - our grandpuppy. She is a live wire let me tell you. But she loves Norman and gives him "hugs" and kisses when she comes over. For those "Grey's Anatomy" fans, yes, Izzy is named after a character from that show. Nina is a fan. Family Dinner night on Sunday: Nina cooked up some spaghetti - which was a hit (ya'all know i don't "do" spaghetti, I just had noodles with alfredo sauce instead). The Connor Monster played ball and bubbles and he didn't want to go home - threw a little fit - which is especially hard on his mom. Hopefully he'll grow out of doing that every Sunday. Got the portraits taken of him finally - what an ordeal. I DO NOT recommend Wal-Mart for having pictures taken - next time we'll try Sears. Since I'm now off on Tuesday and Thursday mornings - I will try to find the time to post a picture or two of Connor from the Wal-Mart portraits on Thursday - running out of time today - need to get sweeping. Reggie, we will all be thinking about you this week - good luck, take care of yourself and don't you worry about the passport center - we will keep it running for you. Nina, I love you. Charles, I'll see you tonight, be good.

It rained all day

No I'm not really mad, I just love this picture cuz I do occasionally get mad. I am mad at myself cuz I forgot to take my camera with me today. But it rained allllllllllllll day so pictures wouldn't have looked that great anyway - but you might have gotten a chance to see my new "do" (hairdo that is).

We started out with a couple of local errands then after breakfasting at Sonic, we headed to little rock at about 10:30 a.m. We went to the camera store first - which we found without getting lost - imagine that!! When I walked in, I went to the counter with cabinets full of "point & shoot" digital cameras and the man behind the counter (John - the manager) asked if he could help. I explained my situation (that I had an older Sony digital and that I was a total dingbat regarding photography) he asked WHAT I would be taking pictures of, and I told him "my 3 year old grandson". He steered me away from the "point & shoots" and said they were not what I needed. He then showed me a Nikon D60 (for beginners). I asked about the Canon Rebel, he showed that one to me also. I like the Nikon best. Now I just need $450 more and I can buy it :)

After the camera store we went to Kohls and Norman bought me a pair of jeans - they were on sale!! I really needed them as I had just 2 pair that I have been wearing every day and every night. We went to JC Penney to look for socks but they didn't have what I wanted so I guess I will have to go to worlds softest socks dot com and get them online.

On to the movies. We went to the RAVE theater and saw "The Proposal" - a Sandra Bullock chick flick (Norman picked the movie, I wanted to see Transformers). The movie was actually better than I thought it would be. We both enjoyed it. We decided to go back to Hot Springs for Dinner - I gave Norman the chance to pick the place - he didn't so we had dinner at Olive Garden - one of my favorites.

We got home around five thirty-ish, I'm in my (flannel) jammies, under the covers, relaxin. I think I'll take a nap. Catch you next week.

Sleeping like a baby.....

Here he is - the birthday boy. He falls asleep in the car on the way over here, and he just wouldn't wake up. How cute is that. I got home from work and he was sleeping. We made dinner, ate dinner, he was still sleeping. We went outside for smokes, he was still sleeping. Noman went in and woke him up and asked if he wanted to play golf - that got him up. I got him a big ball for his birthday and we played ball in the garage forever. Chris and Nina got him some BIG bubbles so he blew bubbles with Chris in the front yard - that was too cute. We had a very nice evening.

I had a doctors appt this morning (yearly exam) so I was off work on the day job today, I'll be off tomorrow too - getting my hair done - finally. Thursday I'm off on the day job and I took a vacation day on the night job so I'll have a whole day/night off for the first time in 2 months. Norman is taking the day off too and we are going to Little Rock to a camera shop so i can talk to them about what kind of camera I really need - not just want. We are going to the RAVE movie theater too and out to eat. I can't wait.

Last week at the night job, I was in "cards" almost all week and boy did I stuff some envelopes - close to 12,000 of them. On my feet the majority of the night using a million dollar machine that needs to be blown into a million pieces. It was a hard week - my feet hurt.

Nina and Chris are still doing good. Nina is working overtime to help get the bills paid and Chris is the expert at budgeting. Norman is thinking about taking some vacation time and driving to Florida to see his mother and brothers. If he goes, it will probably be the middle of August. He really needs a vacation. That's all I have time for today -gotta enter my coke codes then maybe take a nap before going to work. REGGIE - take care of yourself, do what YOU want to do - we are all thinking of you. Nina Bear, I love you.

Oh no, it's MONDAY :(

Hi everyone, I would say "happy Monday" but we all know that's impossible. What a horribly long week is has been. My back is killing me - don't know for sure why, but it is really hard to move. Nina & Chris moved over the weekend. They are on this side of town now just a couple miles from me. Norman & I went over to check out their apartment yesterday. It is a one bedroom so it is smaller than the one they just left but plenty of room for the two of them and Izzy (my grandpuppy) seems to approve. The apartments are on the lake so me and Nina took a walk down by the water and it was lovely. We all came back to the empty nest for grilled burgers which were wonderful. I know you are all dying to know what's up with this picture............WEEEELLLL, as most of you know, I love to enter sweepstakes. Lately though, I haven't had much time which is such a bummer. Anyway, for some reason, I entered a sweepstakes that was giving away a bottle of nail polish - AND GUESS WHAT - I WON!!!! (so did 399 other people). And since I don't have time to paint my nails, I gave the polish to Nina Bear.

I do try to enter my coke sweepstakes. So many wonderful people at work save their coke, diet coke, sprite, etc caps for me and some of them even bring me the ends of their refrigerator 12 packs (worth 10 points each). Entering the codes is a pain in the butt - but, Norman reads them off to me every Saturday night which is a huge help. I'll be sure to let you know if I win anything from Coke-they have some great prizes.

For those of you that worry about me working myself to death, I have asked for a schedule change and reduced hours for the day job. I asked for the following schedule:
Mon: 9-2
Tue: OFF
Wed: 9-2
Thu: OFF
Fri: 9-2
Sat: 9-5
Sun: 9-5

Two mornings off - wow. Hopefully this schedule will go into effect next week. I cannot handle ten hour nights on the night job and getting off work at 1:30 in the morning then being at the other job at 9:00 in the morning. Last week we worked one night for ten hours and I was wiped out for 3 days. Tonight, I may be in "CARDS" and if I am - it will be a ten hour night YUCK.

OK, gotta go get some other stuff accomplished before heading out = have a good week, try to stay cool, Nina Bear I love you = good luck this week with your new doctor.

The ride is over.....

Now isn't that cute?? This little cutie looks a little like my CiCi Bear - same coloring so I just had to use it. The last couple of weeks have been (another) roller coaster ride and I am truly ready to get off the ride - permanently. I am getting to old to ride roller coasters and I have a feeling if I have to ride this one any more, I may become a casualty. I really need to do some house cleaning as this is the only morning I have off, so the blog time will suffer this week. We are scheduled to work 10 hour nights at the house of horrors this week, thank GOD I am not in book print (although I shouldn't say that, cuz last week I wasn't supposed to be in book print and one night they made me go in there). I know some of you are saying "ENOUGH WITH THE "I HATE BOOK PRINT" - grow up and get over it - it's a job ---- Well too bad, this is MY blog and I can say anything I want - so there.

For those of you wondering about the "roller coaster" - all I can say is Nina and Chris have had some problems (yes that beautiful couple you saw pictures of on this very blog) - Nina's disorder is truly a nightmare and and so very hard for those close to her to deal with. Once again, they are going to try to work things out - and all I can do is wish them the very best.

Let's all hope this week is better than last week.

Friends & Family

Sunday at the Empty Nest. I got off work at 5:00 and came home to my little family. I bought Connor a little golf set and since it was SO HOT outside, we decided to play inside by rolling the golf balls up to the "hole". Connor could sit and do this for hours. We had a great dinner-Chris grilled pork chops and we had corn on the cob and mac & cheese. WONDERFUL. I love Sunday evenings with my family. Looks like my "part-time" job's schedule is going to be
Monday: off
Tuesday: 9-2
Wednesday: 9-2
Thursday: 9-2
Friday: 9-2
Saturday: 9-5
Sunday: 9-5
At least this is what it is for the next two weeks. My night job is now OUT OF THE FREEZER for the next 8 weeks - YEAH !!!!!!!!!!

FRIENDS:
You know how you have friends that you see all the time, talk to on the phone, go out and shop with or go out and eat with? Then you have friends that you work with (I just call them my work friends). I don't have any "friend friends" to go out with but I do have some wonderful work friends from my current job and from past jobs. In my last job I was a member of the management team and having "work friends" was not really possible for the most part so it has been a very long time since I have had any "friends" at all. Back in the late 1980's early 1990's I had a super best friend - Katie. Anyway, it is just so awesome to have the "work friends" that I have. Charles and Lydia and Reggie and Miss Terri (Campbell) you are very special people and I am so honored to have you as friends. Darlene, Sandra and Fran are work friends from a past job and they actually still keep in touch with me which just blows my mind. Usually I just lose contact and never see or hear from people again. Paula (Leal) is my Ex husbands wife - she is incredibly special to both me and Nina and we keep in touch via email, blogs and facebook. Some of you know that every night before I go to sleep I say (in my head) every thing and everyone I am grateful for and in addition to my family, I always think of my "friends" too. I am grateful for each and every one of you. For those of you that Pray - Reggie has some health issues and needs your prayers please.

Time to get ready for work - I hope everyone has a great week. Nina call the doctor and make an appointment please - I love you.

Definition of an............

Before I start todays blog, I need to add a disclaimer here - foul language is about to appear and if you can't hang with foul language then don't read todays post - just come back next week. Now for those of us that can handle the bad words, the title of this blog post is "Definition of an ASSHOLE".

Nina's dad (Chris Leal-Orlando Florida) is who I am speaking about. Nina was in Florida in January and had lunch with her dad. There was some discussion about his health and some possible problems. He was going to have some tests, blah blah blah. Nina got in touch with him some time afterwards to see how the tests came out - he said they were going to do more tests. Nina tried several times to find out the results and to see how he was doing - he never responded - until last week.

Nina emailed her dad and asked him if he was terminally ill. His response was = "why, are you looking for insurance money". I took a poll and it was unanimous - He is an asshole and just to be sure I checked the dictionary and looked up "asshole" and lo and behold there was a picture of Chris Leal. (I checked under "jerk" and yep there he was again).

Now for those of you that don't know, Nina has Borderline Personality Disorder (if you don't know what that is, google it) and for her dad to respond to her like this (yes he knows about the disorder) is irresponsible, immature, mean and dangerous.

Ok, enough of that tirade. I worked 35.5 hours at my part time job last week so I'm entitled to be just a tad bit cranky. ONE MORE WEEK IN THE FREEZER (aka book print). I saw SANDRA COOPER at wal-mart a couple weeks ago and SANDRA YOU LOOK FANTASTIC. I am so proud of you. She has lost lots of weight and could probably wear my jeans now. :) Charles - welcome to row 1 and row A (aka the Geriatric row) It will be so nice to have you close by again.

Ok, gotta go as today is the only "day" I have off, gotta do laundry, empty the dishwasher, make lunch for tonight, swiffer the floors, etc etc. I wish every one a great week. Nina Bear, I love you.

Gallery Walk & More.....

Here I am with the great Zoltar. For a small fee, he will tell your fortune - I hear that all day. Friday night was great. We (Norman, Wes, Ricky & I) had dinner at Joses and it was super duper as always. I had lots of chips with white cheese dip, chicken flautas and a diet coke. Wes didn't join us for gallery walk, he went on home but it was great to visit with him. Norman, Ricky & I headed downtown where traffic was unbelievable - not only was it Gallery Walk night but they were also having a food festival of some type. We were lucky and found a great parking place right in front of Belle Arti. We walked on the Bath House side of Central all the way down to the end just before the Majestic. The weather was perfect by the way. We crossed the street and walked back down Central stopping here and there. We went into Romancing The Stone and I bought myself a bracelet and a Peace Sign necklace - I am all of the sudden really into "PEACE" sign stuff. We stopped in front of the store I work at so I could have my picture taken. Norman & Ricky met James who is the manager of the store and one of my bosses. We walked and looked some more and enjoyed the galleries. When we left downtown, I had a surprise for Ricky. I had (earlier in the day) printed out 3 coupons for $10 free play at Oaklawn so we went to the new casino. YAHOO, that was fun. Felt just like being in a (miniature) Vegas casino. We all signed up for our Winners Card and got our $10 dollar bill and had a ball. I only played with a ten dollar bill and I came home with ten dollars. I played the nickel slots and the quarter slots. I bought myself a drink (diet coke & Kahlua). We got home around 10:00 ish and because I had diet coke twice in one night, I did not sleep a wink. I knew better, but I had fun anyway. Looks like my schedule will be 9-2 on tue, wed, thu & fri and all day Sat and all day Sun for the duration of the summer. I will have Monday mornings off so that will be my "blog" time. Check back each week to see if I've managed to make it through the week. Right now my only complaint is my feet are killing me. Last week I got to work in Card Print instead of the hated and dreaded Book Print - now this is good news and bad news. The good news is that I love Card Print. The bad news is that I am on my feet about 80% of the night and after having been on my feet for 5 hours during the day................OUCHY. Gotta go - take care -

The Happy Little Family

Here we have it, the happy little family. We were able to have family dinner on Sunday this week. This was taken in the garage after Connor and Noman (this is what Connor calls Norman) played some golf - in the garage. Connor thought that was way too fun. Now I gotta go out and find him a little toy set of golf clubs. Dinner was bar-b-que steak, mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. It was OK. I've been workin to much for anything else of interest to happen to tell you about but this Friday is Gallery Walk and I will be taking the night off at you know where. Ricky, Norman and I will have dinner at Joses - YUM, then head downtown for Gallery Walk. This is my (belated) birthday outing that Ricky and I do each year. I'll be sure to take my camera and write all about it the next time I get a day off - which wont be for at least a week - Yeah I know the suspense will be hard to manage - but try!!! Have a wonderful week everyone.

A DAY IN THE LIFE ............

Wow, the last 3 days have been nuts. Here is an example of my day:

Midnight:
Just got home from work, took a shower now go to bed

2:30 a.m.
wake up to go pee

7:15 a.m.
alarm goes off and I have slept all of maybe 3 hours (on & off) so I hit the snooze button (3 times)

7:45 a.m.
Get up, wash/blow dry hair, put make up on, brush teeth, switch purses from night before, get dressed, check the newspaper headlines

8:20 a.m.
out the door, stop at SONIC for a cherry vanilla diet coke and jr. breakfast burrito then head downtown and park on the top level of the parking garage. Back my car into a spot, then head down the 4 flights of stairs and up the street to the store.

9:00 - 2:30
Ring up sales, talk to customers, dust shelves, dust shelves and dust shelves then fold t-shirts, fold t-shirts and fold t-shirts some more.

2:30
Run down the street, walk up the 4 flights of stairs, get in my car (which by now is 150 degrees inside and I already can't breathe from climbing the stairs). Hurry out of the parking garage and head to WENDYS (on Grand Ave.) for a jr. bacon cheeseburger. Wolfe down the cheeseburger while heading home.

2:40 p.m.
get home, check the mail, kiss the dog, make my lunch for the night job, brush my hair, go pee

3:00 - 11:30
work at the night job which I absolutely HATE and I just found out that next week we are going to 10 hour days until further notice - Oh NO

My new "part time" job

Happy Monday (not possible huh) - ok, anyway I started my new part time job yesterday. The picture above shows the store downtown where I will be working - it is National Park Gifts & Souvenirs. I worked yesterday from 12:30 til 7:00 and had a ball. I have a lot to learn but I am looking forward to it. I just wrote down my hours for this week and added them up - uh it came to 40 hours OMG this may be harder than I thought. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and I will be working all 3 days and I bet we will be busy - as long as it doesn't rain. I can't wait. Yesterday Nina, Conner, Annissa and Samuel came downtown to see me - what a nice surprise. We went to Bubbalous for lunch and I ate almost all of Conner's grilled cheese sandwich - half of his fries and then had a Chocolate Shake - YUMMY.

Well, folks, I gotta get ready for my "full-time" job - at "you know where" in the freezer (aka "book print") :( :( :(

It's just Wednesday

Oh, this was too cute and I had to share. I wish I had the imagination to come up with the cute captions they put on all the dog and cat pictures at icanhascheezburger.com. Well, I had my interview today for a part-time job to work days & weekends. I got the job and think I am gonna work my butt off but I will have fun too. I'm gonna save for a new & improved digital camera and possibly a photo printer as well. Do you watch Survivor or American Idol? Well, I work nights so I don't get to watch them when they are on but Norman tapes Survivor for me and I watch the idols on-line the next day. The survivors are idiots - they should have voted off Coach - I just can't stand that man and I would have to boycott future survivor seasons if he wins. Adam needs to be the next american idol. He is awesome - I know - he screams a bit too much when he sings (oh ok more than "a bit") but he is so cool. I am really upset about the news on Jon & Kate plus 8 - I hate that they are having problems - I love that show but it sounds like they just got to caught up in all the hoopla of being tv stars and "what else can we get for free". Bummer. That's all for today - Happy Wednesday - be back soon.

More wedding pictures

Here we have the happy couple in front of the restaurant where we had dinner. I think we had 14 for dinner. The Belle Arti was the perfect place for the wedding dinner. Downtown Hot Springs in a beautiful old building. The service was great and they had even set up a separate room as a small chapel with chairs just in case the rain was a problem. That was really great. Now here we have Christopher carrying Nina down the stairs after they said their "I Do's. He carried her all the way to the waiting carriage - it was so sweet, and it was a surprise. You should have seen all of us with cameras running around trying to get shots of this.

And this is a shot of the actual place the ceremony was held. It is on bath house row between the Fordyce Bath House and the Maurice Bath House.
Now, so far these pictures have come from my camera which is an older model. Some of the other cameras used will have much better pictures and I hope to be able to post some of those soon. (See the lady in the black dress above - she had a NICE camera - I can't wait to get a hold of those pictures, she is the ministers daughter). I think I am gonna use the money I make on my summer job to buy a newer/better camera.

Sneak Peak

Just got home from the wedding festivities and couldn't wait to post at least one picture of the newly wedded couple. Isn't she gorgeous? I kept telling her she looked like a movie star. She rode like a princess in the carriage to the ceremony (it sprinkled on us - no heavy downpours). Yes she was a few minutes late, but that's just Nina. The ceremony was short and sweet (lots of umbrellas). Chris then carried his bride down the stairs to the waiting carriage where they took a ride around town. They were dropped off at the Belle Arte where we were waiting. We had a wonderful dinner then went to the Embassy Suites for a drink then us old folks left the young'uns to their partying.

More tomorrow.....
